About

John Yeakel joined Arlington Roe in 2025 as a Commercial Assistant Broker. Prior to joining Arlington/Roe, John worked for 20 years as a high school mathematics teacher for both juniors and seniors at Edinburg High School. As an educator, he designed detailed lesson plans, collaborated with faculty and parents, analyzed data to develop customized strategies and handled sensitive and challenging situations.

He graduated from Illinois State University with a degree in mathematics and minors in history & political science. Additionally, John has endorsements in education both at the secondary and junior high level.

John enjoys acquiring new knowledge and understanding how various elements integrate or complement one another. He values teamwork in solving complex challenges and collaborating effectively to develop solutions. He enjoys being a reliable and trusted point of contact for those around him.

John is involved with several organizations, including the National Council of Teacher of Mathematics (NCTM), the Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics (ICTM) and the National Education Association/Illinois Education Association (NEA/IEA).

In his spare time, John enjoys spending time with his family, working on projects around the house, gardening and completing logic-based puzzle books.
