Carter Taphorn joined Arlington/Roe in 2022 as an Illinois and Indiana Business Development Associate as part of the USLI – Arlington/Roe 50/50 program. In 2024, he was promoted to Senior Business Development Associate. He formerly worked at Bob O’Link Golf Club as a caddie and at Jos A. Bank as a sales associate. Carter comes from an insurance family; his father, Pat Taphorn, owns Unland Insurance which is an agency partner of Arlington/Roe.

Carter graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor of Science in marketing and a specialty in professional sales. While at Illinois State, he served as vice president/recruitment chair and social chair for his fraternity, Pi Kappa Phi. He also spent three years participating in the Ability Experience, a fraternity-organized event to raise funds and assist individuals with special needs.

Carter’s favorite aspect of his career is the individuals he works with. He holds a P&C license and is excited to expand his network with Arlington/Roe and meet customers in his territory. He also values the opportunity the company gives him to explore various positions in the company that interest him.

In his spare time, Carter enjoys watching and participating in sports such as basketball, football, and golf. He also likes hanging out with friends and watching movies. Two of his siblings are collegiate athletes, and he enjoys following their success.
