Diane L. Smith brings a wealth of experience and expertise to Arlington/Roe, drawing from a tenured career in the insurance industry. Previously, she was the Sales and Marketing Manager for Northern Indiana, before assuming her new responsibilities as Director of the Francis Roe Center for Professional Growth and Business Development Associate, Manager in 2024. As of 2025, she is the Director of the Francis Roe Center for Professional Growth.
As the Director of the Francis Roe Center, (FRC), she works to align learning solutions with current and future needs for internal employees and partnered Arlington/Roe agents. Her responsibilities include facilitating onboarding sessions and developing educational opportunities that foster success for both associates and agents. In this role, Diane designs and delivers engaging presentations, coaches’ presenters, facilitates training discussions, and collaborates with internal teams and carrier partners to align learning solutions with evolving industry needs.
A graduate of Indiana University, Bloomington, holding a degree in Communications and Public Speaking along with a teaching certification. Diane began her journey in the insurance industry as a retail agent. With a vast career that includes working with companies such as Liberty Mutual, The Hanover Insurance Group, Nationwide Insurance and Arlington/Roe (from 2001-2004 and again from 2016 to present), she consistently demonstrates proficiency in property & casualty insurance. While at Nationwide Insurance she was chosen to serve on to the Sales Training Advocacy Board and appointed as a Sales College seminar speaker, where she was honored as Sales Manager of the Year.
Diane is also an active contributor to the broader insurance community, where she has served on the Insurance Institute of Indiana’s Personal Lines Board, the National ACT Committee and has presented at multiple annual ACORD conferences.
Diane holds a CLCS designation and possesses licenses in P&C, and Life & Health. Committed to continuous learning and professional growth, she channels her passion for teaching and communication to contribute actively to the growth of others, thereby defining her accomplished career in the insurance industry.
