About

Rod formed a strategic alliance with Arlington/Roe in 2021. In 2023, he moved to the Sales and Marketing team for Nebraska and Iowa. He was a Professional Liability Broker specializing in placing directors and officers, employment practices, professional liability and cyber coverage. He holds a CPCU designation.

Before his alliance with Arlington/Roe, Rod owned and operated Muench Insurance since December 2012. Prior to that, he managed a branch office for a regional wholesaler that held binding authority for auto, property, liability and professional lines for 25 years.

Rod began his insurance career in 1980 as a loss control representative for a national property and casualty company covering Iowa and Nebraska. He is a graduate of Iowa State University with a degree in Industrial Education.

Rod has been involved in many insurance organizations like the PIA NE-IA, IIA of NE, and the Independent Insurance Agents of Omaha, of which he is a past president. His favorite aspect of his career is assisting others, both professionally and in his personal life. He enjoys the opportunity to help with risk-transfer solutions.

Rod leads a busy life in his spare time. He has served four 3-year terms on his church board, taught Sunday school, assisted with confirmation instruction, and participated in many mission trips. He has also been a member of a local Kiwanis service club and president for three different terms.

His non-organization activities include spending time with his wife of over 40 years and their six grandchildren. He is often smoking meat on his Weber charcoal smoker. He also smokes green, Anaheim, and jalapeño peppers to make his signature hot and smokey salsa. That salsa is a key ingredient in one of his 10 different chili recipes he enjoys year-round.
