Melvin Plowman joined Arlington/Roe in 2025 as a Professional Liability Brokerage Assistant. Prior to joining the company, Melvin served as the market sales director and regional vice president at Shoe Sensation, having spent a combined 7 years with the company. Prior to that, he worked for rue21 for 11 years, holding roles from district manager to store manager. Melvin joins us with a wealth of experience from his previous roles in the retail industry, where he spent over 18 years in leadership positions.

Melvin is a graduate of Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, TN, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in sociology with a focus on criminal justice.

Melvin enjoys the opportunity to make a positive impact by delivering exceptional service to his clients. He finds it rewarding to know the strategic effort he does helps safeguards or protects another’s most important assets. Melvin thrives on the challenge of leading and motivating a team to achieve goals while developing strong relationships with customers and partners. He embraces new challenges and continual growing in the fast-paced, ever-evolving business industry.

When he’s not working, Melvin enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons, traveling to new places, enjoying beach vacations and visiting Walt Disney World. He’s always up for a cruise or exploring new states, and when he is at home, he enjoys outdoor activities with his family and their dog, as well as indulging in movies and video games—old and new. As a true Tennessee fan, Melvin is always cheering on the Tennessee Volunteers.
