Occupational Accident Coverage

ARTICLE September 2026

Arlington Roe has recently partnered with multiple occupational accident carriers to provide your clients with more choices, competitive pricing and a number of plan offerings.

We can help your agency serve its independent trucking, transportation and gig economy clients by offering comprehensive occupational accident coverage.

Occupational accident insurance covers accidental death & dismemberment (including paralysis), accident medical expenses, disability and provides survivor benefits resulting from covered accident. Additional coverage options are available for non-occupational accident benefits, which provide coverage to the insured while they are not working, as well as for authorized guest passengers.

One advantage to occupational accident coverage is the ease of premium payment deducted from the independent contractors 1099 wages. Additional advantages include medical benefits that are typically written with $0.00 deductibles and no copays, as well as lump-sum benefits paid to the insured’s beneficiary in the event of a covered accidental death.

It is important to note that your clients are completely liable if an independent contractor is not covered.

Occupational accident coverage helps mitigate their risk in the event of a covered accident and while the premium is paid through payroll deduction. Here at Arlington/Roe, we have markets that can help with small and large unit operations. Our goal is to help get your clients favorable pricing, great options and top rate service.
