Phyllis Cantrell joined Arlington/Roe’s team in 2019 as a production service technician. In 2022, she was promoted to Commercial Lines Assistant Underwriter. Phyllis has a long tenure in the insurance industry as she began her insurance career in 1979. She began as a CRT operator, then she worked in a variety of roles at a few companies including property and general liability rater, commercial underwriter, technical spec, drive-in claims service, trainer and processor.

Phyllis is well-traveled and has worked in many places including Indianapolis, Indiana, Dallas, Texas, and India. Prior to joining Arlington/Roe, she stayed home for three years and began her baking business Simply Desserts by Phyllis. She attended IUPUI.

Her favorite aspect of her job is helping people better understand insurance. Throughout her many years in the insurance industry, she has seen that many consumers do not understand the insurance process or what different types of insurance cover. Phyllis is also a member of Lifers Incorporated, a diverse nonprofit organization. She was also a member of Toast Masters.

In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her three children and eight grandchildren. In 2021, all 40 of her family members went on vacation and stayed in cabins, and in 2022, they traveled to San Juan, Puerto Rico for Christmas. Her passion is cooking and baking for her catering business, Simply Desserts by Phyllis. She lives by a quote from her grandmother, who also had a catering service. In the words of her grandmother, “You are blessed when you bless others.” She has catered parties with 300 people, and she cooks all the food. When people ask her what she enjoys cooking, she says, “Everything!”
